Mechanical Specs

Ours has an air-cooled VW engine that runs, looks, and sounds in great shape sitting in a clean, detailed, and painted engine compartment and looks better and sportier than it did when it was new. It runs, shifts, and drives perfectly and the sound is instantly recognizable as a VW.

This engine in the lightweight Karmann-Ghia with that 4-speed transmission that shifts well makes for a quick and sporty package and looks as good as it goes while riding on polished U.S. mag wheels and black sidewall tires.

Interior

The black interior has its twin bucket seats with headrests and rear seats and the matching pocketed door panels.

The Ghia designers also did a great job with the featuring a big, round speedometer and other gauges.

It has the pushbutton radio, 4-speed shifter, heater/defrost unit, the rear seat folds down to add some storage space, while the front trunk opens up for plenty of luggage space and it is also equipped with a Blaupunkt speaker box.

Exterior

The Karmann-Ghia looks shiny in its bright red paint on it and its graceful lines, the curved fenders, and all the rest of the sheet metal.

It has shiny chrome bumpers front and rear, all the unique trim pieces, all making this a car that still draws appreciative stares wherever it goes.

Conclusion

You cannot go wrong on this 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia we have here at Adventure Classics as VW collectors love the Karmann-Ghia's, and we see the market for these cars heating up, as well giving you a pleasant driving experience now.
