1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray T-Top Coupe

Car History

It isn't very often that collectors get a chance to buy a restored Corvette with the correct paint and trim codes that have been re-done. But that is what we have here at Adventure Classics.

It is a very nice 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray T-Top Coupe in #946 code Elkhart Green, warmed-over 350 cubic inch engine, and a #917 code Saddle vinyl interior.

Engine & Drivetrain

Our 1972 Corvette Stingray has the standard 350 cubic inch engine with its four-barrel carburetor and a four-speed transmission that looks and sounds as it did from the factory.

It is nicely detailed with correct Chevy Orange paint on the block, the original open-air cleaner with chrome lid, great looking plug wires and hoses, finned aluminum factory valve covers, aluminum intake, correct ignition shielding, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Four Wheel Disc Brakes, air conditioning, and sitting in a period correct, painted, and detailed engine compartment.

It is by far one of the most tractable Corvettes ever made and it idles smoothly as the stainless headers and the dual exhausts emit a nice note and the gearing assures restful freeway cruising.

It rides on Rally wheels and wears Firestone Indy 500 raised white letter tires and the fully-independent sports suspension rides and tracks well.

Interior

It has a twin front bucket seat interior in #917 Saddle that is in excellent condition with matching door panels, matching tan carpets, the chrome 4-speed shifter with a black shift knob in the factory console as well as the gauge package and stereo radio, black factory steering wheel, dual pod speedometer/tachometer with a full gauge package, seatbelts, and the T-tops that never go out of style.

Exterior

Our 1972 Corvette comes painted in #946 Elkhart Green that in came from the factory and looks great from all angles with its long, sleek hood, great chrome and trim, shark-like front bumper, twin rear bumper, chrome rocker panels, window trim, and fender grilles.

While there were virtually no appearance changes to the 1972 Corvette from 1971, the model year did mark the “end of an era” for the third-generation Corvette. It would be the last model year to feature both front and rear chrome bumpers, a bright egg-crate grill, side-fender grills (later models do have functional vents and some have vent trim), and a removable rear-window (this last had been a standard feature from 1968-1972.)

Our 1972 Corvette had as standard equipment a positraction rear axle, a left-hand outside rearview mirror, all tinted glass, a flow-thru ventilation system, front and rear disc brakes, and electric clock and even has the optional luggage and T-Top rack on the trunk.

The entire car, body, engine, interior, chrome trim, and dual chrome exhaust tips looks as new!

Conclusion

This is a great 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray T-Top Coupe we have at Adventure Classics that is re-painted in #946 code Elkhart Green, powered by a great and tractable 350 cubic inch engine pulling more horsepower than when it was stock, shifted by a 4-speed shifter, and a #917 code Saddle vinyl interior with air conditioning.

What more could you want?

It is a very desirable Stingray that will only increase in value year after year.
