Car History

The iconic Chrysler "letter cars" were born in 1955 with a very special model, the Chrysler C-300. Chrysler had their sights set on going racing in NASCAR and had to homologate street cars to meet the rules.

Ultimately a mere 1725 C-300's were produced and this example we have here at Adventure Classics is a gorgeous car is finished in the original color of Platinum and a tan interior.

Engine & Drivetrain

Our car's drivetrain include the 331 cubic inch Chrysler Hemi V8, power steering, power brakes, and Powerflite two speed automatic transmission.

The 300 in the name stood for 300 horsepower, produced by a high-performance variant of the mighty 331 CID Hemi V8 introduced in 1951. The Fire-Power 331 CI Hemi V-8 engine had a compression ratio of 8.5:1, a high-lift camshaft and solid lifters were slipped into the block, and a pair of Carter WCFB four-barrel carbs went on top, underneath a bat-wing air cleaner.
With their considerable advantage in horsepower, Chrysler C-300s dominated the NASCAR scene in 1955.

Interior

Our C-300 has a roomy cabin that features premium tan leather for the wide bench seats front and rear, while the instrument panel was populated by a series of round dials. Control of the Power Flite automatic transmission was provided by a lever in the dash.

Options include power seats, heater, tinted glass, defrost, 150 MPH speedometer, so it was a very special car back in 1955.

Exterior

The exterior of our car features the stylings that combined the Ghia studio ideas with clean lines accented by chrome outlines, twin grille openings, special exhaust tips and special 300-exclusive emblems with checkered-flag motif.

Of course, wire wheels with chrome centers and wide whitewall tires are a spectacular final touch to this vehicle. The storied Chrysler Corporation was very proud of the 300, and you will be as well when you own it.

Conclusion

The union of luxury and performance has been a goal since the start of motoring, but the 1955 Chrysler C-300 we have here at Adventure Classics is unique. Cars like the machine here have been considered the forerunners of the Mopar performance cars that followed.

This is a must see and have for any serious collector. Come see it today.
