We have a rare truck with a cool custom pull-along trailer to boot here at Adventure Classics. It is a 1979 Dodge Lil Red Express that is one of the coolest and first factory sport trucks to ever hit the streets.
Engine & Drivetrain
The heart of the Lil' Red Express is the engine. It is a factory correct with many added performance touches too. It is a Dodge 360 cubic inch engine with a chrome top dual air cleaner Ram Air system, four-barrel carburetor, polished finned MOPAR Performance valve covers, performance spark plug wires and ignition, power brakes w/discs up front, power steering, as well as the trademark dual exhaust stacks.
These vertical exhaust stacks really have a unique performance sound and look great. The A727 three-speed automatic is a stout unit, and it sends the power to a 3.55 limited-slip rear end.
Interior
The interior is all red and a mix of both a pickup and a performance vehicle.
It has a wide bench with a folding armrest in the center and matching door panels, carpeting, and dash. The dash has all the factory gauges and controls, accessory gauges, Realistic Stereo system and radio, air conditioning, and red floor mats too.
Exterior
Our Express has the factory correct paint job in Canyon Red pickup with glossy oak wood bolted to the sides, real glossy lumber on the floor, plenty of brightwork on the grille and chrome bumpers, and it rides on custom aftermarket 5-spoke mag wheels with white-letter BF Goodrich Radial TA tires.
Now do not forget the Lil Red Express decals on the side as well as those chrome stacks makes a total package that commands attention.
You even get a custom matching trailer with similar wood patterns, slotted mags, diamond plating and a tool box, to tow along behind as you cruise to car shows.
