Car History

The 1961 Corvette featured the final redesign of the first generation with less exterior chrome, a simple mesh grille insert in place of the former vertical chromed “teeth,” and a new rear design treatment inspired by GM Styling Director Bill Mitchell's 1958 XP-700 show car.

The drivetrain in our Corvette is composed of a 350 cubic inch LT small block Chevy engine and 5-Speed manual Transmission.

The engine looks nice with its chrome valve covers, aluminum intake fuel injection, electronic ignition, exhaust headers, performance red spark plug wires, reworked radiator, and all sitting in a restored, clean, and detailed engine compartment.

It rides on Mickey Thompson Sportsman raised white letter performance tires and polished 5-spoke racing mag wheels. Many of the original components and mechanicals are used under the hood.

Interior

The twin bucket seat red interior is in good condition and is factory correct looking with the 5-speed shifter, radio, factory black/white gauges, stainless trim, red carpet, matching door panels, a red color matched Corvette spoke steering wheel, and a tach and clock.

Exterior

The bright red paint on this Corvette looks good as the body is with good fit and finish and the frame is very straight and original and it looks great with the contrasting white coves, excellent chrome and trim, and red painted hardtop.
