Engine & Drivetrain

The engine and transmission were rebuilt to exacting standards to look and perform like new, with all the power this Corvette had on the day it was built. Our 1972 Corvette LT1 Stingray has the original born with 255 horsepower 350 cubic inch LT1 engine with the VIN #047 on the engine block, aluminum intake, four-barrel carburetor, nicely detailed with correct Chevy Orange paint on the block, the original open-air cleaner with chrome lid, great looking plug wires and hoses, finned aluminum factory valve covers, correct ignition shielding, Power Steering, Power Brakes, and sitting in the correct, painted, and detailed engine compartment.

It is by far one of the most tractable Corvettes ever made and it idles smoothly, has a #3925661 M22 4-speed transmission, that looks and sounds as it did from the factory while riding on Rally wheels and wears BF Goodrich Radial white letter tires and the fully-independent sports suspension rides and tracks well.

Interior

The interior was meticulously restored, replacing items as necessary and reconditioning items such as loose title and tele column and worn gauges. It has a restored twin front bucket seat interior in black that is in excellent condition with matching black door panels with black floor mats, the chrome 4-speed shifter in the factory console as well as the gauge package on it, factory stereo radio, black factory steering wheel, dual pod speedometer/tachometer with a full gauge package, seatbelts, and the T-tops that will never go out of style.

Disassembly
The interior of the car was completely removed and the body separated from the chassis. The engine, transmission and rear differential were removed leaving just the bare frame.

Rolling Chassis
Following the same attention to detail, both the front and rear suspensions and the rear diferential were rebuilt to renew the ride and handling your would expect from a Corvette.

Exterior
With the rolling chassis in place the body was reattached, all existing paint was stripped and repairs to the body were made and a magnificent show quality paint job was applied.
Our 1972 Corvette comes painted in a rare shade of #945 Bryar Blue and looks great from all angles with its long, LT1 raised hood, great chrome and trim, shark-like front bumper, twin rear bumper, chrome rocker panels, window trim, and fender grilles.
While there were virtually no appearance changes to the 1972 Corvette from 1971, the model year did mark the “end of an era” for the third-generation Corvette. It would be the last model year to feature both front and rear chrome bumpers, a bright egg-crate grill, side-fender grills (later models do have functional vents and some have vent trim), and a removable rear-window (this last had been a standard feature from 1968-1972.)

Our 1972 Corvette had as standard equipment a positraction rear axle; a left-hand outside rearview mirror; all tinted glass, a flow-thru ventilation system, front and rear disc brakes, and electric clock.

The entire car, body, engine, interior, chrome trim, and dual chrome exhaust tips looks as new!

Conclusion

This is a great color combo Bryar Blue with black interior we have on this very nice 1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 Stingray we have here at Adventure Classics.

It is a very desirable Stingray that will only increase in value year after year.
