Engine & Drivetrain

The 389 cubic inch V8 engine is equipped with the rare from the factory Tri Power carb system, 4 -speed Transmission, Power Steering, Drum Brakes, Safe-T-Track rear end, and was rated at 365 horsepower when new and still looks just as it did when it left the showroom with its Pontiac blue painted block, added Moroso chrome valve covers, factory intake, cast iron exhaust headers, correct triple chrome open element air cleaners, with all the other factory appearing stock engine parts and hoses.

The appearance of the engine compartment is exceptional too as it is clean, detailed and painted correctly.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via the 4 -speed manual transmission and Safe-T-Track rear end.

Interior

The interior consists of the factory twin front bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with matching rear seat, door panels, black dash and woodgrain dash veneer, as well as the passenger grab handle and GTO emblem.

Equipment includes the factory GTO gauge package, center console, and updated AM/FM stereo radio.

Exterior

Our GTO is painted in dark maroon which has a great presentation with the styling elements of these 1966 GTO's include louvered taillight covers, bumper-mounted reverse lights, chrome bumpers, and the iconic GTO hood scoop.

It rides on period correct chrome Cragar SS wheels mounted with black sidewall tires at all four corners.
Handling is great as you could expect from these GTO's and it stops just as well with the power-assisted brakes that were optioned from the factory.

Conclusion

The time-capsule real-deal restored 1966 Pontiac GTO that came from the factory with the 389 cubic inch engine, Tri Power carb system, 4 -speed Transmission, Power Steering, Safe-T-Track rear end, Drum Brakes, and a Power Convertible Top, plus PHS documentation, we have here at Adventure Classics, is a super looking and running GTO.

It also has lots of receipts and documents, a New Battery and fuel pump, and many extras this car that has been well kept.

THE GREAT ONE, the 1966 Pontiac GTO, is a must for any collection, and this one is legit and beautiful.
