Engine & Drivetrain

Under the hood you will find the Merc being powered by the company's new Y-Block overhead-valve 256-V8 engine that was only available in a Mercury and only in 1954.

It came with a five-main-bearing crankshaft and standard four-barrel carburetor with an 3 speed manual column shift with over-drive transmission.

The clean, detailed and restored engine bay has the engine block, heads, intake, and valve covers painted the mint factory green, with a performance 4-barrel carb and chrome open element air cleaner assembly added, with the factory air cleaner and a bunch of other extra parts in the trunk.

The rest of the engine components and bay looks as original too.

It rides on red painted steel wheels with chrome and red Mercury hubcaps and wide white sidewall tires to give it the great ride and correct period looking stance.

Interior

Inside, the restored interior has a two-tone appearance everywhere with the full bench front seat, matching rear seat, matching dash and door panels, factory dash and gauges, correct factory steering wheel, pushbutton radio, and black carpeting, with it all looking like a time-capsule including the fuzzy dice.

Exterior

This 1954 Mercury Monterey was restored and it looks both new and vintage. It has quailty paint with a timeless appeal and rolls smoothly over the body, the cool hardtop profile, glass and chrome is in excellent shape, wraparound bumpers, dual pointed bullets, and with the iconic Mercury grill.

Add in the full-length trim, special Monterey crests, and rear fender skirts, makes this a vintage tribute to the 1950s.

Conclusion

We can't emphasize how special this 1954 Mercury Monterey we have here at Adventure Classics.

This Mercury has all the great traits of the legendary hot rods and will always attract attention at any car cruise or show and provide you with just a great fifties car that would be as asset in anyones collection.
