1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

Car History

The muscle car called the Chevrolet Chevelle ran from 1964 until 1977, but none were as sought after as the big block Super Sports, and none of those are more sought after than a restored, original engine casting #3855961 396 cubic inch engine, with the paint code of M-M Aztec Bronze, and the #761 black interior, that we have here at Adventure Classics.

This SS we have can be described in one word, stunning! It is not only a real SS, with the #138 Vin code but was restored and is in great condition inside and out and just waiting for someone to drive it and enjoy it.

Engine & Drivetrain

This Chevelle has a big block Chevy 396 with the factory #3855961 casting number to show it was born as a 1966 factory 396 high performance engine in this true Chevelle SS.

It is immaculate under the hood with the engine and heads painted the correct Chevrolet orange, aluminum intake with a sniper fuel injection sytem, chrome Chevy factory valve covers and chrome open element air cleaner, factory cast iron exhaust headers flowing into dual 3" exhaust.

A Munci M21 4-speed manual transmission keeps you in control of those ponies and a H.D.12-bolt rear end plants the power to the ground.

Power disc brakesup front provide the stopping-power and the power steering makes this effortless to handle.

Interior

The great restored black vinyl interior has dual front bucket seats, a chrome 4-speed hurst shifter on the floor with the white cue ball on top in the factory console, all the correct factory gauges and trim in the dash, black carpet and floor mats, black Chevelle steering wheel, and a clock on the console.

Exterior

The paint code of M-M Aztec Bronze is a sure-fire hit when everybody sees this super paint job on this SS, with the factory SS twin bulge hood, SS and 396 emblems, chrome drivers mirror, front and rear chrome bumpers, chrome sill plates, all giving this SS a muscle car stance.

And let's not forget the Rallye wheels with the chrome trim rings shod with Goodyear Wingfoot HP Raised White Letter tires that truly looks stunning with the right factory stance and attitude.

Conclusion

Chevelle's are incredibly popular right now and we don't expect this 1966 original #3855961 396 cubic inch engine, with the correct restored Aztec Bronze paint and black interior, that we have here at Adventure Classics, to stay here for sale very long.

So, if you're looking for a rare first generation Chevelle SS, your search is over.
