1957 Chevrolet Corvette

Car History

The '57 Corvette is in most Corvette collector's eyes, has one of the most iconic looks with the single headlights, rounded rear fenders with a small tailfin, and those exhaust tips sneakily coming out the rear bumpers.

We have a driver quality Corvette here in black/silver coves with date code correct 283 cubic inch engine, 2-4 barrel carbs, red interior, a convertible top (needs replaced, and a black matching painted hardtop.

Engine & Drivetrain

The only size engine available in 1957 was a 283 cubic inch engine and ours is date code correct with casting number #3731548 which has 2-4 barrel carbs on an aluminum intake, orange painted block and heads, chrome open air cleaners, aluminum finned Corvette script valve covers, dual exhaust, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, chrome engine shielding, with all sitting in a clean factory looking engine compartment.

It is backed by a four-speed manual transmission that shifts very smoothly and rides on white sidewall tires and steel wheels with chrome Corvette hubcaps.

Interior

The bright red interior has twin bucket seats, red carpet, matching door panels, all factory instruments in the dash with a 140-mph speedometer which dominated most of the dashboard, while other smaller gauges fill the rest of the dash with the original Wonder Bar radio still in place.

It also has a red Corvette steering wheel, chrome Hurst shifter and ivory Hurst shift ball, a convertible top, and a nice-fitting black hard top that matches the paint.

Exterior

Most collectors will agree that the 1957 Corvette design is timeless and widely recognized, and ours sports the black paint scheme set off by the silver painted coves on the side.

The body looks great with the hood louvers and trunk trim as well as the chrome front and rear bumpers, and of course the iconic way the exhausts exit out of that rear bumper.

Conclusion

Early Corvettes like the 1957 Chevrolet Corvette we have here at Adventure Classics are highly collectible and it's easy to see why with black one.

This Corvette will be the center of attention anywhere it goes, especially if you take it up to the next level, with the great color combination of black/silver cove paint combined with the red interior, wide whites, and the hardtop.
