The Corvette was always America's only true sports car and the 1966 Corvette Coupe like the frame-off restored and modified Resto Mod we have here at Adventure Classics has been taken to a new level!

Everything in this Corvette build has been changes, restored, or modified to make it quite a showstopper.

Engine & Drivetrain

It is registered under the original '66 Corvette VIN number and was taken to be sandblasted by Paul Newman of Newman Car Creation's. Paul takes the stock frame and converts it so you can bolt on a C4 corvette suspension and get 4-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering so the car drives and handles like a brand new corvette.

The frame was finished in black and new brake lines and stainless steel fuel lines were added, the front suspension is from a 1985 Corvette with all new ball-joints, tie-rod ends, refurbished rack, all new energy suspension bushings, Vette Brake lighter front spring, and new Bilstein shocks.

The rear suspension is from a 1990 with the stout Center Section being a Dana 44 with 3:90 gears and all refurbished with Energy Suspension bushings, new Delco rear hubs, new Bilstein shocks, new 2008 Corvette Z06 brake package, new Z06 Master Cylinder, and rolling on C6 chrome Z06 style 18" x 9.5" all around with Goodyear eagle Fl fronts 255/35ZR18, and rear 275/35ZR18 tires.

The engine is a new crate LS6 with a Spear Tech re-programed computer and engine harness, tube headers, red painted Corvette Fuel Rail Covers, ram air open element air cleaner system, Rock Valley stainless steel fuel tank with LS pump mounted inside, all new stainless steel lines, C5 fuel filter and regulator, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, and is backed by the T56 six speed transmission with the all new clutch, fly wheel, and factory Hurst shifter.

Interior

The complete interior was given a black leather makeover including the twin high-back new C6 bucket seats with the built in headrests, factory looking dash filled with the Classic Instruments gauge package, billet steering wheel, black carpet, seatbelts, American Auto Wire body harness, Vintage Air mini-gen AC system, Kenwood sound system, with the entire interior wrapped in Dynamat for sound deadening, and all new door glass and weather stripping.

Exterior

All body work and paint was done by Greg Thurman at GTS customs with no expense spared.: The body was media blasted before it was sprayed in a gorgeous shade of Victory flowing over the svelte lines of the 66 body, and accented by the black racing stripe on the 427 hood, the great chrome bumpers, and trim.

Even the underside of the chassis has been sprayed with Vortex bed liner material and shows well..
