1973 MG MGB

History

The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed by the British Motor Corporation later British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top roadster from 1962 until 1980. Its details were first published on 19 September 1962.

A stark contrast from the big and heavy American muscle cars of the 60 s and 70 s, this restored 1973 MGB we have here at Adventure Classics has the pep under the hood to compliment the light and nimble frame.

Mechanical

Under the hood is an impeccable 109 cubic inch 4-cylinder engine, backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Power output is about 78 horsepower @ 5500rpm with its carb and open air cleaners. The gearbox is a four-speed manual, all synchromesh. The chassis is a Unit Construction body with welded steel construction and the front suspension on a subframe with good brakes in the front and rear.

Our MGB engine and compartment has had an extensive restoration and looks as good if not better than when it was brand new with the factory looking engine and the addition of the chrome open element air cleaner and the performance coil.
It rides on black wall tires and aluminum mag wire wheels and has that correct factory look, stance, and sporty ride.

Interior

The MG has a great black twin bucket seat interior with matching black carpet, stereo radio system, manual black convertible top, black vinyl interior and door panels, black-face gauges, black shifter boot, wooden shifter handle and floor console lid, and much more.

Exterior

The subtle yellow paint shows off the classic lines of the MGB and with the accommodating interior, great motor, and great handling characteristics, this little MGB is a perfect example of sporty European style.

The restored car has the essence of British styling of the day, when you think British Sports Car, you think MGB, and this one has the look that accomplishes that.

At the opposite end of the car is a surprisingly roomy trunk complete with a spare tire and wheel.

Conclusion

Like we said, when you think European sports car, one that is sure to come into your mind, is a 1973 MG MGB like the one we have here Adventure Classics.

So buy this one, hop in, put the top down, load the picnic basket with some goodies, find some scenic and windy roads to cruise around in, and enjoy the finer things in life!
