1946 Ford Super Deluxe Street Rod
Car History
Ford Motor Company introduced its Deluxe line in 1938 as an upscale alternative to bridge the gap between its base model and luxury Lincoln offerings.
The "Deluxe" name was used intermittently before and after this to specify an upscale trim, but the De Luxe Ford line was differentiated as a separate "marque within a marque" with separate styling and pricing.
The completely restored 1946 Ford Deluxe Street Rod we have at Adventure Classics is a one-of-a-kind car that is both current as a cruiser but nostalgic if you want an “old time look” cruiser too, that has had every nut and bolt redone and it looks like better-than-new when you inspect it.
Mechanical
To start with our Deluxe has had a frame off restoration top to bottom and is powered by a small block 350 cubic inch B7M Forced Induction supercharged Chevy V8 engine, with a complete redo of all the engine component and parts added like the polished aluminum finned Edelbrock valve covers and matching Edelbrock triangular open element air cleaner, high performance spark plug wires, performance Weber carb, tube headers, re-worked radiator, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, and more sitting in a clean and detailed engine compartment.
The engine is backed by an automatic transmission with a re-worked and modified frame and suspension that has coil over shocks, leaf springs, dual exhaust, and a Heavy Duty rear end.
Interior
The interior has a grey custom cloth interior featuring a plush full split bench seat with a complete custom painted and detailed factory looking dash that has an assortment of gauges, controls and switches, tilt steering column and factory grey steering wheel, chrome long automatic shifter, dark carpet, aftermarket stereo radio, air conditioning, as well as great matching door panels and headliner, with what looks like inlaid side panel trim that has to be seen.
Exterior
Our 1946 2 Door Coupe has an "All Steel" black cherry paint on the exterior that is very deep and rick looking, along with great front and rear chrome bumpers, the iconic 46 Ford grill out front, Super Deluxe emblems, great glass and trim, dual side running boards, and rides on polished chrome aftermarket mag wheels with black sidewall tires.
