1968 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible

Car History

1968 is the first year for the very popular C3 Corvette platform that ran through 1982. Some of the most iconic Corvettes of all time are C3's, especially the 427 Tri-power 435 horsepower Corvettes.

We have a very nice original looking restored 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible here at Adventure Classics that has a 427 cubic inch engine rated at 435 horsepower with its Tri-Power carbs, black standard interior, and a 4-speed transmission.

Engine & Drivetrain

The 427 cubic inch engine rated at 435 horsepower with its Tri-Power carbs with the correct #3937797 435 horse intake rests under the hood. It has the CR number on its block referring to it being a factory replacement block.

This great original looking engine retains most all of its parts including the Tri-Power carbs with the correct fuel lines and linkages, triangular chrome air cleaner with a 435 horse emblem and valve covers, Power Steering and brakes, braided and shielded spark plug wires, factory cast iron exhaust headers, distributor shielding, 7-blade fan, H.D. radiator, and all sitting in what looks like the original but restored engine compartment too.

It has a great sounding dual exhaust system and a 4-speed transmission, this Corvette steers and stops like a sports car should.

These Corvettes are smooth riding and put the power to the ground with an inverse leaf spring independent rear suspension. The 68 model has vacuum operated flip up headlights and a vacuum operated windshield wiper cowl.

Interior

Our Corvette has an original looking standard and restored black twin bucket seat interior, with the matching black carpet, center console, and dash with its factory 6500 RPM tach that was on the 435 horsepower model and gauges.

It has the factory chrome 4-speed shifter in that center console. Black is present throughout including the door panels, headliner, and in the storage area and boxes behind the seats.

The original Delco radio resides above the console as well as the stock gauge package with the Fiber Optic lights behind the 4-speed chrome factory shifter and you will notice the factory wood steering wheel too.

Exterior

The exterior is re-painted #983 British Green which also matches the Trim Tag to show it is the original color it was born with. That shade of green is really pleasant and looks good with the chrome accents, bumpers, and Chevrolet Rallye Wheels with BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white letter tires that provide a classic and clean look.

The curves on C3 Corvettes are famously loved and the working flip up headlights add to the sports car appeal as well as the dual chrome exhaust tips exiting the rear that look that sound great.

It has the mean looking domed factory 427 hood, side scoops, and is topped off with a great black convertible top too.

Conclusion

If you're looking for a 427 Corvette Convertible with a 427 cubic inch engine, Tri-Power carbs, black interior, and 4-speed transmission, we have it here for you at Adventure Classics.

It is a rare and reasonably priced chrome bumper C3 Corvette, wears the great color combination for a Corvette, and will always hold its value should you ever decide to sell in the future.
