1965 VOLKSWAGEN DUNE BUGGY
Car History
We have a like new 1965 Volkswagen-based dune buggy here at Adventure Classics that is powered by an air-cooled flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and the fiberglass bodywork is finished in metallic blue over a Beetle pan.
Features include a roll bar, polished wheels, aluminum trim, auxiliary lighting, a polished-finished exhaust system, and a custom fuel tank.
Engine & Drivetrain
With enough polished and chrome parts on our engine to catch every eye in town, our VW Dune Buggy has plenty going for it.
Attached to a VW frame sourced from a Beetle is a highly modified flat four VW engine that gives this dune buggy plenty of power with the aftermarket open-element air cleaner system on the performance carbs, polished exhaust header system, polished mufflers, aftermarket ignition and distributor, as well as a chrome-finished fan shroud.
The transmission shifts like a dream with the power being sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle and the modified suspension rides high and firm.
This buggy will tackle about any terrain you can drive into with our buggy's staggered off-road tires and gorgeous custom rims.
Interior
The interior features two padded and upholstered bucket seats, lap belts, a modified chrome gas tank in the storage compartment, fire extinguisher, a chrome shifter, 8-spoke steering wheel fronts a color-matched steel/aluminum dashboard that houses a 100-mph speedometer, roll bar, and a grab bar for the passenger.
Exterior
The car features nice metallic Blue paint on a great fiberglass body and tub mounted to a Volkswagen Beetle pan and is finished in metallic blue with a matching roll bar. Features include a windshield, auxiliary lighting, and a custom fuel tank located behind the seats.
