1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Car History
It isn't very often that collectors get a chance to buy a numbers matching, original drivetrain, big block Corvette. But that is what we have here at Adventure Classics.
It is a very nice 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe in #972 Classic White paint, LS5 454 cubic inch engine, and a #417 Saddle vinyl interior.
Engine & Drivetrain
Mechanical
Our 1971 Corvette Stingray has the iconic 454 cubic inch LS5 engine that has 365 horsepower with its Rochester four-barrel carburetor, a Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission, that looks and sounds as it did from the factory.
It is nicely detailed with correct Chevy Orange paint on the block, the original air cleaner with chrome lid, great looking plugs, wires, and hoses, orange valve covers, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Four Wheel Disc Brakes, air conditioning, and more sitting in a period correct, painted, and detailed engine compartment. Recently updated a new electronic ignition, new carburetor, and aluminum radiator.
It is by far the most tractable big-engine Corvette ever made and it idles smoothly with the automatic transmission in drive, but from outside the car there's still that rumble to let any and all know this is a big block.
The dual exhausts emit a nice note and the gearing assures restful freeway cruising. It also assures acceleration times with a top speed of over 130 mph.
It rides on Rally wheels wears Cooper Cobra Classic GT radial white letter tires and the fully-independent sports suspension rides and tracks well.
Interior
The original color tan interior (confirmed by the Trim Tag) is in excellent condition, the T-tops never go out of style, the tan carpets are great, as are the door panels.
It has AM/FM/cassette stereo, fiber-optic bulb indicators in the console, a 3-speed automatic shifter in the center console, tan steering wheel, dual pod speedometer/tachometer with a full gauge package, seatbelts, and more.
Exterior
Our 1971 Corvette comes painted in #972 Classic White paint and looks great from all angles with its long, low hood, great chrome and trim, shark-like front bumper, two-piece rear bumper, rocker panels, window trim, and fender grilles.
The entire car, body, engine, interior, chrome trim, 454 badging, big block hood, dual chrome exhaust tips, and chrome luggage rack looks as new!
Conclusion
This is a great color combo we have on this very nice, 454 LS5 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray we have here at Adventure Classics.
It is a very desirable numbers-matching Stingray that will only increase in value year after year.
