1969 Mercury Cougar 428 Cobra Jet Eliminator Tribute

Car History

We have a 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator tribute in our showroom at Adventure Classics that has a great color combo of blue with a white bucket seat interior, and the iconic 428 Cobra Jet engine too.

The first generation Cougar, which is the one collectors love the most, was available as a drag racer for the street thanks to the 428 Cobra Jet engine back then. It was conservatively rated at 335 horsepower but more likely developed 400 horsepower that makes our tribute one fast cat.

We have a very nice stunning red 1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible With about three million cars produced, the Cougar was the highest selling Mercury brand ever produced.

Mechanical

Ours is a rare muscle car that is restored with one of the best engines money can buy, the 428 Cobra Jet engine at 335 horsepower backed up by a 4-speed manual transmission.

The engine looks super in the clean and detailed engine compartment with its correct shade of Ford Racing Blue paint on it and the Ram Air cleaner assembly, aluminum intake and performance 4-barrel carb, finned aluminum Cobra valve covers, with all its factory components and options like the power steering, power brakes, and factory cast iron exhaust.

It rides on BFG Radial GT tires on the chrome factory road wheels and has a great stance and sound to it too with its dual exhaust system coming out the back.

Interior

Our Cougar has a fabulous white dual vinyl bucket seat interior that is absolutely loaded with the matching rear seats, the factory AM/FM Radio, floor 4-speed shifter, simulated wood on the white door panels, factory gauge cluster with auxiliary aftermarket gauges under the dash,
three-spoke wood trim steering wheel, and black carpet, that make it an ideal blend of luxury and performance.

Exterior

The 1969 Cougar we have has the great blue paint on it accented by the white Eliminator racing stripe down the sides. It has all the features it is known for like the grille with horizontal bars, the taillights that span the entire rear of the car, body sides that feature a prominent line that swept downward from the nose to just ahead of the rear wheels, and it has the hidden headlights that looks great.

The body has that mean muscle car look with its hood scoop, front spoiler, dual body colored racing mirrors, and full-width rear spoiler.

Conclusion
