The muscle car called the Chevrolet Chevelle ran from 1964 until 1977, but none were as sought after as the big block Super Sports, and the totally restored 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 we have here at Adventure Classics is flawless! It doesn't get any better than this!
It is not only a real SS, verified with the #138 Vin code, but it also was redone in the correct paint of green and has the #763 Black interior all on the Trim Rag, as well as the original drivetrain with the #3902406 casting number 396 big block engine.
Engine & Drivetrain
This Chevelle has the #3902406 casting number big block Chevy 396 V8 engine to show it was a born with 1967 factory 396 high performance engine in our Chevelle SS. That casting number engine was used for late 1966 and 1967 years.
It is immaculate under the hood with the all the correct factory parts, the engine and intake painted the correct Chevrolet orange, performance carb, spark plug wires, chrome Chevy factory valve covers and air cleaner with the correct Turbo Jet decals, factory cast iron exhaust headers flowing into dual exhaust mufflers with dual chrome tips coming out the rear under the bumper.
A GM Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission keeps you in control of those ponies and a H.D. rear end plants the power to the ground. Power brakes provide the stopping power and the power steering controls the handling, and factory air conditioning keeps you cool.
Interior
The great restored black imitation leather interior has dual front bucket bench seats and matching rear seat, a chrome automatic shifter on the floor in the factory console with a chrome shifter t-handle, all the correct factory gauges and trim in the dash, and a clock on the console.
It has black carpet and came with a slew of options including the Push Button Radio, Tinted Glass, Manual rear antennae, and rear seat speaker.
Exterior
The awesome shade of green paint set off by the black vinyl top gets rave reviews when everybody sees this super paint job on this SS with the factory SS twin bulge hood, chrome and polished 5-spoke mag wheels wrapped in blackwall performance tires, SS and 396 emblems, sport mirror, all giving this SS a muscle car stance.
