Car History

The 1955 Chevrolet is considered a huge turning point for Chevrolet and has become an icon of the 1950's Chevrolets. The '55 Chevy was the first successful Chevrolet with an optional V8 engine. The new 265-cubic-inch overhead valve V8 was designed to be smaller, lighter, and more powerful than previous V8s in the auto industry.

We have a highly restored 1955 Chevy here at Adventure Classics that has had a complete restoration from top to bottom with an upgraded small block Chevrolet engine to boot.

Engine & Drivetrain

When you open the hood you will see the iconic small block Chevrolet engine painted Chevrolet Orange with a compliment of goodies on it like the chrome Chevrolet valve covers, chrome open element air cleaner, aluminum intake and 4-barrel performance carb, chrome alternator, and tube headers leading back to dual exhaust.

The engine pushes back the horsepower to the 4-speed transmission puts the power to the ground via the Chevrolet Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings, center caps, and spinners with Cooper Cobra Radial GT performance tires making the ride great, fast, and safe.

The engine is installed in the very nice clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment.

Interior

The interior shows a similar level of restoration and is a factory correct redo that shows its authenticity in the restoration. The factory-correct two-tone turquoise and off-white coordinates with the exterior color to give this a nice flow inside and out.

It has a bench front seat and matching rear seat as well as the door panels and the headliner. Plus, the straw tan is a tasteful color for the textured seat inserts.

The smooth twin cowl dash looks great as does all the factory gauges and controls with accessory gauges down below the dash, and so does the 4-speed shifter on the floor, the side vent windows, and artful steering factory Chevrolet steering wheel.

Even the AM radio is still there as well as blue carpets and floor mats.

Exterior

Our 55 wears a factory-correct Regal Turquoise and India Ivory two-tone paint job that you will marvel at, and it remains its authentic appearance enhanced by the best in modern paint.

The chrome and brightwork is nice as is the chrome front and rear bumpers and the jet-inspired hood ornament. It has zinc paint and is fully restored underneath too.

Conclusion

This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air we have here at Adventure Classics, has a great legacy, great restoration, great engine swap, and is a Tri-Five icon that looks even better than when it was new.
