1964 Ford Thunderbird
Car History
The Ford Thunderbird was a rear wheel drive automobile which was manufactured by Ford in the United States over eleven model generations from 1955 through 2005. The Thunderbird created a market niche that eventually became known as the personal luxury car.
For 1964 the Thunderbird was restyled in favor of a more squared-off appearance, which was mostly evident when viewing the car from the side or rear. Hinting at its roots in the previous generation Thunderbird that it evolved from, the new model retained a similar grille design with quad headlights.
Nothing pops like a Rangoon Red 1964 Ford Thunderbird convertible with a white interior and wire wheels, like the one we have at Adventure Classics.
Engine & Drivetrain
Our completely restored T-Bird has the powerful 390 cubic-inch V8 engine painted in Ford Racing Blue, with the four-barrel carburetor, correct gold painted valve covers and air cleaner assembly, and an engine compartment that looks like it was back in 1964.
Everything looks factory correct and the big V8 fires up easily with a great exhaust note out the rear dual exhaust system. Options and features include power steering, factory spinners on wire wheel hubcaps with newer white sidewall tires, backed by the 3-speed automatic transmission, and more.
Interior
The gorgeous white leather interior really completes the red exterior with power bucket seats, a power folding roof, a complete set of factory gauges and other gauges, matching rear seat and door panels, factory console in the middle with excellent chrome trim, black carpeting, black three spoke sports steering wheel, and AM/FM radio.
Exterior
Our Bird is painted that bright stunning Rangoon Red over those classic lines that still look sleek today. It has great chrome bumpers and trim, rear fender skirts, and the rear end houses those iconic T-Bird emblems in the rear brake light lenses giving this car the look of that rocket ship styling from that era.
This rocket was actually owned by U.S Air Force Brigadier General Arthur W. Cruikshank Jr. and includes all kind of paperwork, documentation, and receipts.
Conclusion
This restored 1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible we have at Adventure Classics is a gem that you will cherish when you add it to your collection.
You too can enjoy the fun in the sun with the top a down when you buy it and make it your own.
