1961 Corvette Convertible
Car History
The 1961 Corvette featured the final redesign of the first generation with less exterior chrome, a simple mesh grille insert in place of the former vertical chromed “teeth,” and a new rear design treatment inspired by GM Styling Director Bill Mitchell's 1958 XP-700 show car.
Adventure Classics is proud to have a nicely restored 1961 Corvette Convertible finished in Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic for sale. This car is equipped with a 350 cubic inch small block Chevy engine and 4-Speed manual Transmission.
Engine & Drivetrain
The drivetrain in our Corvette is composed of a 350 cubic inch small block Chevy engine and 4-Speed manual Transmission. The engine looks period correct with its Corvette script finned valve covers, aluminum intake, chrome valve covers, correct ignition shielding, factory cast iron exhaust headers, and all sitting in a restored, clean, and detailed engine compartment.
It rides on color-matched blue steel wheels with Chevrolet factory hubcaps and spinners on wide whitewall tires.
Many of the original components were restored rather than replaced and the entire mechanics under the hood were restored and rebuilt.
Interior
The twin bucket seat blue interior is in great restored condition and is factory correct looking with the 4-speed shifter, radio, original restored gauges and stainless trim, seat belts, blue carpet and floor mats.
The Corvette has great door panels, a blue color matched Corvette spoke steering wheel, tach and clock, and it is perfect.
Exterior
The Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic paint on this Corvette looks super as the body is in spectacular condition with a good fit and finish and the frame is very straight and original and it looks great with the contrasting white coves, excellent chrome and trim, rear mounted antennae.
It is hard to find such a nice example of a Corvette that has such a great restoration and paint job on the fiberglass body as well as the sharp white convertible top.
It is a correct top-quality restoration and this one simply has it all.
Conclusion
This restored 1961 Corvette Convertible we have at Adventure Classics is a great investment if you are an avid classic car collector or someone looking to start their collection, this would be a great addition.
Wherever you go, you will be the envy of everybody else as you will have to pry their eyes off your Corvette everywhere.
