Car History

The 1971 Mark III, like the one we have here at Adventure Classics, was considered the top of the class as far as personal luxury coupes were concerned.

Ours is a great-looking car with a long hood, spacious cabin and sizable trunk area that carries the signature Continental wheel-shaped contour. The pale-yellow shade is very appealing and the black hard top is in excellent condition too.

But what makes it unique is that it is a one-owner car that has a true mileage of only a tad over 25,000 miles.

Engine & Drivetrain

A big car like this Mark III deserves a big engine, and that is what it has got with a 460 cubic inch V8 engine sitting in this one with the horsepower pegged at 365, it runs well and has all the power you need.

It has the 4-barrel carb and is paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission for a very enjoyable driving experience. This lengthy cruiser's suspension is also in good shape and, combined with the Mark III's long wheelbase, gives a great comfy driving experience with safety too as it has power steering, 4-wheel power brakes, including discs in front, stock Lincoln wheels and hubcaps and fitted with new thin white sidewall tires.

Interior

The dark brown original Interior is really impressive and fully loaded with options including the split power bench seat in front and back, power seats, tilt column, cruise control, power windows and locks, air conditioning, automatic dimming headlights and much more.

The trunk area is every bit as cavernous as you'd expect and a factory original spare and jack is also in place.

The Lincoln has the original Owners Manual, original sales order, and was last titled in 1988 with it being in storage since.

Exterior

It is painted in a pleasing pale-yellow shade that has a great shine, body fitment, the chrome trim is in good shape, the bumpers in front and back are straight and clean, and the doors, hood and deck lid all open and close smoothly with clear glass that surrounds the cabin.

The black top is in excellent condition too.

Conclusion

The curb appeal of this one-owner 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III we have here at Adventure Classics is a car you don't often come across. It is a classic and ready to drive anywhere in the country you want to cruise, in 70s style.
