1933 Ford Model 40 Street Rod

Car History

Many street rodders feel the 1933 Ford Five-Window Coupe is one of the ultimate cars you can build and enjoy in the hobby.
The look of the iconic front grille with its pointed forward slope at the bottom which resembled either a spade or a Medieval shield, the new hood which now covered the cowl, giving an impression of more length, in addition to the more rounded and skirted fenders and elegantly bowed bumpers, make up this overall super looking body style.

We have a very special one here at Adventure Classics that has an all-steel body with a small block Chevy 400 cubic inch engine with air, built by C & C rod shop that has had an extremely well done high dollar restoration on it.

Engine & Drivetrain

Ours is powered by a small block Chevy 400 cubic inch engine to make this lightweight Street Rod very quick. It has a performance carb, chrome aluminum intake, billet aluminum valve covers, performance distributor, performance plug wires, chrome open element air cleaner, polished air conditioning, chrome exhaust cover shielding, with the gasses running to the performance mufflers that exit out the rear in the dual exhaust and sound fantastic.

The power is sent back to the automatic transmission, then to the performance Corvette rear end and suspension, and then delivered to the ground with large polished Halibrand 5-spoke mag wheels and meaty performance black wall tires.

This is a well-built, clean show car that is ready to cruise. The underside was done nearly as nicely as the top and the car runs and drives great.

Interior

This rod has a real two-tone tan and gray leather interior that is gorgeous with the fully custom seats and the matching door panels. The chrome tilt billet steering wheel allows plenty of room while the VDO performance gauges monitor the functions as you ride in comfort in the air conditioning, raise the power windows, or shift the tranny with the large shifter.

It has so many other subtle things on it like the matching upholstered “rumble seat”, black top panel, and rear third brake light that has been custom made and added.

Exterior

The body is an all-steel body and our 5-window coupe is stunning in the flashy black paint that gives it a very definite show car vibe.

Finish quality is excellent with laser-straight sheet metal, great door fit on the suicide doors, and even gaps all around. It has chrome oversized headlights, that iconic chromed front grill, and actually looks better in person than it does in these pics.

Conclusion

It will be very hard for you to ever find a custom 1933 Ford 5-Window Coupe like the one we have here at Adventure Classics.

It is done right with no expense spared and it looks like what a street rod should be from every angle.
