Car History
We have a rare 1991 Jeep Wrangler 2-Door Renegade here at Adventure Classics that not only has the original paint it left the factory with but has always been a Florida Jeep!
Engine & Drivetrain
The Jeep Wrangler is a mid-size four-wheel drive off-road SUVs, manufactured by Jeep. A new Renegade option replaces the Laredo and adds fender flares, fog lights and alloy wheels.
Ours has the optional new six-cylinder engine that boosts horsepower substantially from 112 with the old 4.2-liter unit to 180 with the new 4.0-liter I-6 engine which is backed by a manual transmission.
The Renegade rides on a 3” Lift Kit with Dayton white letter tires over sized Off-Road tires and custom American Racing wheels. It has some special features such as Off-road gas shock absorbers, Power steering, and an extra capacity fuel tank (20 US gal.)
Interior
Our mint condition interior has a pair of high-back seats with Trail Cloth Fabric and reclining backrests, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Floor carpeting (full width, and on insides of body tub), Floor mats, a center console with cup holders, courtesy and engine compartment lights, glove box lock, tilt steering wheel and an AM/FM/cassette stereo radio.
Exterior
The YJ Wrangler "Renegade Decor Group" we have is a very custom Jeep as it was shipped to Auto-style in the Detroit area, where the Renegade Decor Package was installed, then shipped back to Jeep for delivery to dealers.
Renegades were white, black, or red and ours still has the gorgeous red paint straight from the factory.
The Renegade Decor Group was a $4,266 option over a base Wrangler for 1991 and ours has the exclusive body flares, color keyed fender flares with integrated body-side steps, front and rear bumperettes,
Fog lamps that are integrated into the front fenders, and Renegade striping and door letters and chrome Nerf bars.
