1967 Ford Ranchero 289 Factory Original Engine
Car History
The Ford Ranchero was a light duty car-based pickup truck that was produced from 1957 to 1979. The birth of the modern car-pickup combination was born and even spawned its GM competitor, the El Camino.
We have a great restoration of a 1967 Ford Ranchero here at Adventure Classics that has been restored inside, outside, and underneath, and is in excellent condition.
Engine & Drivetrain
Under the hood rests what the owner says is the original 289 cubic inch V8 engine that was the same unit that was available in the Mustang, so when matched with a performance carburetor, has plenty of power to keep the dual exhaust making the proper throaty sounds.
The engine looks great too with its factory Ford correct blue paint on the engine and intake, chrome valve covers with the 289 decals on them, improved distributor and spark plug wires, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, chrome open element air cleaner sporting the 289 High Performance decal on it too, and all sitting in a very clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment.
The optional three-speed automatic transmission is flexible enough that you can take this car everywhere from around town, to long trips down the highway. This same easy cruising attitude goes for the power brakes.
Interior
The interior is all new with its two-tone orange and cream colored split-bench seat with matching side door panels, factory black dash with the correct gauges it came from the factory with, modern AM/FM, black and silver three spoke steering wheel, and black carpeting.
There is also ample storage space behind the seat that is a nice perk on a Ranchero. The interior is looks both great and is comfortable enough to drive all day.
Exterior
The exterior has been repainted in a great shade of all new base coat clear coat orange that is offset by black full body length stripes and a black racing stripe up the hood with the black Mustang type hood scoop.
The undercarriage all painted and clean, with new rear shocks, a great dual exhaust, and complete with new Cooper Cobra Radial GT raised white letter tires on factory black 5-spoke Rally wheels.
This Rancheros has a killer looking stance and those black wheels with a polished lip give this Ford a muscle car look. It looks long and low and with the rear tonno cover and the dual sport mirrors really sets it off.
Conclusion
The 1967 Ford Ranchero we have here at Adventure Classics is a great chance to have a completely restored example of a early Ranchero that has the great V8 engine with good power, great looks, and a great driver for a classic car.
